Gail Springer in 2016-2017

This fall I sang several beautiful songs with Serenata of Santa Fe’s Soiree Rouge. We presented pieces by Adam Guettel, Vernon Duke, Kurt Weill, and Manuel DeFalla.

This winter I had the pleasure of presenting a new song cycle by Santa Fe composer Ron Strauss, called A La Luna, Spanish lyrics by the romantic 19th century Galician poet, Rosaliade Castro. The concert was entitled Complex Stories, and included music by Arvo Part, Frank Bridge, Joseph Schvantner and Ned Rorem. Serenata of Santa Fe musicians were the incomparable David Felberg, violin, Shanti Reynolds, viola, Dana Winograd, Cello, Pamela Epple, oboe, and Nathan Salazar, piano.

Spring was the time for travel and exploration, and spent most of it by the ocean or in the canyons of Arizona and Utah.  In March, I taught an intensive Music Theatre Workshop at Mills College in Oakland, California.

I’ll be singing two concerts with Serenata of Santa Fe next season, The Americans on November 12, 2017, and Soiree Noir on December 6, 2017.  More details to come.
