about Gail

Gail Springer has been a singing teacher, vocal coach, and musical director for forty years, empowering singers to accomplish their goals.  Her wide range of experience, from classical to jazz to Broadway belt, makes her especially effective in responding to the needs of the individual.  She is adept at problem solving for the experienced singer, or encouraging the beginner.

Gail Springer is a Certified Master Teacher of the Estill Voice Training System, and holds Bachelors and Masters degrees in Music Education from the University of New Mexico.   She is currently Professor of Theatre at the Santa Fe University of Art and Design, formerly the College of Santa Fe, where she teaches Estill Voice for actors and singers.

After 36 years at the Greer Garson Theatre, Gail retired from the Santa Fe University of Art and Design to pursue other creative interests. While at the Greer Garson Theatre, Gail coached voice and dialects, directed The Apple Tree, The Baker’s Wife, Bat Boy: The Musical, The Wedding Singer, Reasons to be Pretty, Circle Mirror Transformation, Little Shop of Horrors, Once on this Island, Middletown, Spring Awakening, Very Still and Hard to See, and Heathers , and directed the music for Pal Joey, She Loves Me, Babes in Arms, Over Here, On The Town, Sweet Charity, Good, Assassins, I Hate Hamlet, Animal Crackers, Dames at Sea, How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Into the Woods, The Musical Importance of Being Earnest, Cabaret, Chicago, West Side Story, Chicago, Happy End, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Hair, Urinetown, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.

Gail Springer’s performing experience includes music theatre, classical and contemporary art song, dance and piano. She has been featured soloist with Serenata of Santa Fe, Canticum Novum, Santa Fe Pro Musica, Santa Fe Desert Chorale, Santa Fe Women’s Ensemble, Showtime Santa Fe, Santa Fe Community Orchestra, New Mexico Women Composers’ Guild, Bruce Odland Big Band, Kevin Zoernig, and the New Mexico Highlands University Bach Marathons. She has performed in Singapore, Colorado, Utah, and New York.  Her most recent new music projects have been song cycles by Santa Fe composers, Ron Strauss and Kelvin McNeal.
